Here are a couple of fine examples of how beautiful slate tile is, and what is possible. Note the segmented baseboard tile around the door threshold, this technique makes it possible to tile around curved surfaces such as the straw bale wall in this example. You can see another example in the kitchen photo that is posted on this blog. The base board is cut from the same tile that is used on the floor to achieve continuity.
